Margarita Calpotura, Associate
Margarita's practice primarily focuses on intellectual property litigation including copyrights, trademark, and Internet-related disputes in state and federal court.
Prior to joining Kronenberger Burgoyne, Margarita held legal positions concentrating on intellectual property transactions with firms representing artists, musicians and start up businesses. Margarita has helped artists negotiate recording contracts with record labels and content licenses with television and movie studios.
"My background in new media and entertainment law compliments my Internet-focused practice," she says. "My interests lie in assisting clients with procuring and protecting their copyright and trademark rights through business transactions and litigation."
Margarita is a member of the State Bar of California, the District Court for the Northern District of California, and the American Bar Association.
Margarita received her law degree from Golden Gate University School of Law, where she received Deans List's honors, a CALI award in Remedies, and Witkin awards in Special Problems in Contracts and Torts and Solving Legal Problems. Margarita was a member of the Association for Sports, Communication, and Entertainment Law, and represented clients as a student clinician. Margarita graduated from the University of California Davis with a degree in Managerial Economics and a minor in Communication.
